Capital of Thailand · Chao Phraya River delta
Bangkok is Thailand's capital and its main international gateway. Most visitors arrive at Suvarnabhumi (BKK) or Don Mueang (DMK) and spend two to four nights here before heading to the beaches or the north.
The city is organised around the BTS Skytrain and MRT lines. Staying near a station in Sukhumvit, Silom or Siam makes temples, malls and the river easy to reach without sitting in traffic.
The historic core — the Grand Palace, Wat Pho and Wat Arun — sits on the Chao Phraya River and is best visited in the morning, with a river cruise or Chinatown in the evening.
Private transfers run from both airports to any hotel, and from Bangkok by road to Pattaya (about two hours) and Hua Hin (about three hours).

Hotel nights, guided days and transfers in Bangkok combined into one booking and one voucher.
Whole-boat charters from Bangkok marinas — half-day, full-day and sunset trips with captain and crew.
First-time visitors usually pick Sukhumvit or Siam for the BTS Skytrain and shopping, Silom/Sathorn for a business-district feel, or the Riverside for resort hotels with river views. All are within 30–40 minutes of the Grand Palace.
A private airport transfer meets you in the arrivals hall and drives you door to door. The Airport Rail Link to Phaya Thai is the public alternative; from there you change to the BTS.
Two to three full days cover the Grand Palace, Wat Pho and Wat Arun, a river or canal trip, Chinatown and a day trip to a floating market or Ayutthaya.
